Since 2022 I have been honoured to be the curator of the Barry Kamen Estate. Our mission as an Estate is to research, protect and promote the work of artist Barry Kamen (1963-2015). From Spring 2022 to Spring 2024, I catalogued, archived and researched the works in the Estate collection. This in-depth and intimate process of archive building, as well as the significant body of research that was done simultaneously during this time, has convinced me of the importance of Kamen’s oeuvre and its irrefutable place in the canon. The archive now being formed, we are now moving towards exhibiting and promoting his work in the UK and internationally. The Estate is directed by Tatiana Strauss (Executive Director) and Glen Erler (Director). The Estate can be contacted on info@barrykamenestate.com.

An Original ‘Djinn’ settee from Stanley Kubrick’s ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’

I am exited to present for sale an original double ‘Djinn’ settee by Olivier Mourgue with a singular provenance: it was one of the furniture pieces used on set in the lobby of the Hilton Hotel, Space Station 5 in the iconic film ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ by Stanley Kubrick (1969).

Having encountered his work with urban and intervention art early on in my discoveries and research into Brazilian art (beginning in earnest with research undertaken for my MA in Art History in 2015)
