Having encountered his work with urban and intervention art early on in my discoveries and research into Brazilian art (beginning in earnest with research undertaken for my MA in Art History in 2015), my interest and admiration for Grud’s work has grown since 2018, when his studio practice entered a different and more formal phase, bringing with it all the energy and freshness of the public spaces he was worked in for so long. For me Grud’s recent work embodies, among many others things, the extraordinary continuing development of abstraction in Brazilian art since the Neo-concrete movement of the early 1960s. I am delighted to be a champion of his work here in the UK.

An Original ‘Djinn’ settee from Stanley Kubrick’s ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’

I am exited to present for sale an original double ‘Djinn’ settee by Olivier Mourgue with a singular provenance: it was one of the furniture pieces used on set in the lobby of the Hilton Hotel, Space Station 5 in the iconic film ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ by Stanley Kubrick (1969).

Since 2022 I have been honoured to be the curator of the Barry Kamen Estate. Our mission as an Estate is to research, protect and promote the work of artist Barry Kamen (1963-2015).
